Welcome to the Wizard's Workplace
Welcome to my little spot on the world wide web. I don't have much today but what I've got I'll share with you.
I'm a senior software engineer for Proquest Information. A singer in a blues punk band (progressive rock sometimes). A devoted father. A poet, artist and free thinker. Think geeky computer dude mixed with Jim Morrison and we'll get along just fine.
About This Site
This is my personal kingdom and sounding board. I try out new things once in a while and like to take note of them. I don't particularly have anything going on that absolutely needs to be seen or heard but I might as well share what I've got. For day to day stuff, just visit me on Facebook
Music
The poet of the band, I've been at it since I could and do it all the time. On any given day I'll have written yet another song idea, riff idea, bass line idea, well you get the idea. With 15 plus years playing guitar as a solo act, as well as in Cliff, Paul, and Ray, bass is a new challenge that I've taken to like a fish to vodka, with a little OJ in it. My influences are varied, Roger Waters/David Gilmour, B.B. King, Jim Morrison, Curt Cobain, Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan to name a few. I'm never afraid to show my folk rock roots, counter pointed with a rawness that channels the old blues singers, strong emotions driving a powerful voice that you can feel in your core.
While on stage I pour my heart and soul into every song, I only asks that you pour me another, and maybe one more.
Art
I've been an artist forever. Somedays better than others. I've spent a good portion of the last 15 years working as a graphic artist, web designer, marketing design and sketch artist. I play with photography when I find someone or something that catches my eye I'm known to wander off in a trail of ecstasy. I'm easily distracted but very focused once I begin my next project.
Poetry
All lyrical music is at its heart poetry. I write a bit here and there. I'll share it as it arrives. I'm never quite sure what I'm writing or why but the words always seem to arrive as if on the tongue of a dream. In some ways that's what it's about for me. A dream to chase without ever requiring resolution barring my departure from this earth.
History
Wizard's workplace has had many revisions over the years. This is at least #20. Simple with a splash of color. I may throw it out and start a new one again shortly, but my website has been blank for way to long.
